Lead DevOps Engineer
Appital, the Equity Capital Marketplace, brings technological innovation and automation to equity capital markets, proactively sourcing liquidity for institutional investors. The area of capital markets that Appital are focussed on has historically been underserved by technological advancements, providing an exciting opportunity to help Appital define the future of this segment, and as a Lead DevOps Engineer you will be front and centre in driving our vision forward.
As part of our team you will be working with other Appital engineers using a modern stack to architect and implement new features and tools in our platform. We have a compelling roadmap with innovative and challenging features with some compelling scalability and integration challenges.

This role is an Appital full-time position for residents of the UK.

You should apply if you have:
- A passion for building secure, reliable, highly available and observable systems that deal with high-stakes transactions
- A desire to be involved from the ground up in defining our production systems, tooling and procedures - this is an opportunity to help build the ops culture you always dreamed about.
- An understanding of engineering for the web: client/server architecture, modern best practices and high performance standards
- A desire to contribute to the design process and to be involved in product discussions and decisions The ability to communicate the benefits of technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders effectively
- Patience and drive to both learn from and mentor others
We’re specifically looking for:
- Experience with GCP or AWS
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with infrastructure automation/orchestration
- Experience with operating and maintaining production systems and developing best practice monitoring/alerting systems
Bonus points:
- Experience with Go
- Experience in financial services
- Familiarity with GraphQL

Location
This role can be based in our London office at 222 Regent Street or remotely within the UK, with ad hoc meetings in London.
