Prior to launching Appital, Mark worked with the UBS Equity Capital Markets syndicate desk, successfully placing multiple IPOs and follow-on transactions across sectors. He began his career at Bank of America as a Foreign Exchange Analyst before moving to Debt Capital Markets.

Pete Correia
Co-founder, CTO
Pete led teams from startups to big corporations, building complex data-driven products within the financial services, business consulting and Internet of Things industries. Former clients include Xively (acquired by Google), Barclays, EY, Commerzbank, AlixPartners, Aimia and Access Fintech.

Brian Guckian
CBDO
An experienced equity markets specialist and sales trader with a 25 year track record, Brian most recently founded Astrum Partners, a placement agent for alternative funds. Brian was formerly in Global Equities and Private Equity for Tradition (TFS) and Head of Sales and Sales Trading for SEB, in addition to working with Nordic banks in London early in his career.

Stephane Carty
CFO
Stephane has more than 24 years investment experience in trading and financial derivatives. He founded Fir Post Capital, a global volatility fund in 2010 and subsequently Blackheath Capital Management. Previously he was head of European Principal Strategies at Wachovia Bank, and his early career included trading both agency and proprietary books at Commerzbank, Lehman Brothers and Bankers Trust.

Marlon Richards
Head of Operations and Integrations
An operations and integrations leader with 20 years’ experience in trading operations, technical integrations and product development. Prior to joining Appital, Marlon was the API Product Manager at MarketAxess. Earlier in his career Marlon held various roles at banks and hedge funds including SAC Capital, Severn River Capital, Citigroup, and Credit Suisse.

Business Development
Over 30 years' experience sales trading Equities and a track record of building relationships with a wide range of institutional investors predominantly in the UK and Europe, providing a wide range of advice and solutions. Prior to joining Appital, John had worked in various trading and sales roles for HSBC & Lehman Brothers.

Kat has a decade of experience working in product roles within the capital markets and fintech space. She started her product career at Thomson Reuters and has since managed multiple pre-trade & trade products with a focus on user experience. Most recently Kat worked in the crypto industry.

Head of Engineering
A technical leader with over 10 years experience in delivering successful IT engineering projects. Prior to joining Appital, Sam was a partner and CTO for Umbrellium Ltd and its spin out, Thingful Ltd, working on Internet of Things (IoT), and urban technology projects. Earlier in his career Sam was Senior Engineer for Xively (later acquired by Google).

Gosia Flood

Gosia has over 10 years of experience in designing user-centred products and brands across financial services, public services and more. Prior to joining Appital, Gosia launched and scaled innovative businesses with venture builder BCGDV. Earlier in her career she worked for a consultancy specialising in end-to-end digital transformation in global markets, as well as for a brand performance agency.

Adam has worked as a senior software engineer for over 10 years with experience in email marketing automation and med tech software on large scale distributed systems. Prior to joining Appital, Adam worked as a Lead Engineer at Medichecks architecting software systems to integrate with pathology systems.

Marco is a senior software engineer with over 10 years experience in the fields of e-commerce, Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence. He has previously worked with a number of luxury brands and startups such as Thingful Ltd and Shapes AI where he developed innovative solutions for global data providers, social media and cloud platforms.

Dot is a versatile data scientist with over 10 years of experience in AI and machine learning algorithms. Before joining Appital, Dot co-founded and served as CTO of Starling Technologies, an AI-based startup specialising in urban transport solutions. Earlier in his career, Dot worked as a software developer for Umbrellium Ltd and its spin-off, Thingful Ltd, where he focused on Internet of Things (IoT) projects.

Shay has had a wide and varied career – with experience at corporates Exxon, Corning and McKinsey, startups Glentara and Irish Seafood Producers Group, and venture capital with Delta Partners before co-founding Frontline.

Matt is an award-winning financial services Chief Information Security Officer, and Board Member and Chair of Audit at industry regulator the Jersey Financial Services Commission. He has built and led global commercial, tech and cyber security functions across retail banking, capital markets, fund administration and insurance - most recently as CISO and then Senior Director at global risk advisor Willis Towers Watson.

Dermot Shortt

Dermot has over 25 years of capital markets and asset management experience gained at global banks and as a successful entrepreneur. He joined UBS Investment Bank in 1994 and worked in various roles across quant, technology and sales, including running ‘UBS Delta’, a technology focussed team, for 10 years. Dermot then co-founded Finbourne Technology in 2016, which specialises in advanced financial software for the investment management industry, where he remains Chairman.

Graham is an experienced entrepreneur who has held a variety of senior roles including CTO, board member, investor, social impact supporter and advisor. In 2000 he created Photobox which grew to become the largest personalisation company in Europe. He started his career in finance working for the London Stock Exchange, Baring Securities and UBS.
